![]() This book by Gary Chapman was published in 2014, and concerns the life and family of John Francis Bell born 1829 in the Cherokee Nation East. He was born into a mixed Scot-Cherokee family. It is a fictional narrative, based on real people, the descendants of John and Charlotte Adair Bell who intermarried with Starr, Duncan and Watie families, all prominent Cherokee families. The book covers major events, including the infamous Trail of Tears to Indian Territory, the Bell Detachment on that journey, and the rebuilding of their lives afterwards.
