The book features a detailed history of the two seminaries that were established in the Cherokee Nation prior to Oklahoma Statehood in 1907. Dr. McCullagh is a well known author of Cherokee subjects, and has done extensive research into the establishment of the schools, the students and teachers, and also lists the rural schools where the students taught after their graduation from the Seminary.
