Support Talbot Library and Museum, a non-profit based in Colcord, Oklahoma. 2025 ANNUAL DONOR FUND CAMPAIGN DONATE Dear Friends, “Preserving a Bit of History” has been the mission and motto of Talbot Library and Museum since 1990. Talbot’s is part Museum and part Research Library, located on a two-acre property in Colcord, Delaware County, Oklahoma. The property includes the historic one-room Springtown Schoolhouse, the Adair Building containing large museum items & farm machinery, a Blacksmith Shop, Post Office Building and General Store. The main building consists of a Bookstore, a Museum of historical items of the area, as well as the Walkingstick Research Library room. The Library contains a unique, large collection of materials relating, but not exclusive to, Cherokee genealogy and history. Our focus is on Indian Territory, Northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas. The Talbot Bookstore is an important part of the facility, offering new and used books for sale on the above subjects. These books are available for purchase on site, as well as online at our updated website, www.talbotlibrary.org . On the website, you will find a link to our E-Bay bookstore containing many other valuable used books. Also, contents and ordering information for back issues of our publication, T.L.&M. Genealogy as well as the Goingsnake Messenger publication are listed on the website. We are an independent non-profit (501-C3) organization that does not receive government funding. We operate through donor contributions, book sales and occasional grant funding. We appreciate you and respectfully ask you to consider a TL&M investment for an end-of year gift contribution, a charitable bequest, a memorial or in your estate planning—as we continue to preserve history for generations to come!
